A year marked by a distinct density of feet and balls. From the Rams’ return to L.A. to O.G. receivers taking over the field, the 2015 NFL season had a lot of surprises. But, it also had a few hiccups. Here is our list of the biggest fails of the 2015 NFL Season, in no particular order.

Blair Walsh Field Goal

Millions are watching. The fate of the playoffs rests in your foot. What do you do? Well, if you’re anything like Blair Walsh then you choke. Big time.

Regarding the mistake, Walsh had this to say, “It was so quick I have no idea what happened,” he said. “You have to look back at the film, but I can tell you this: It is my fault. It didn’t feel good off my foot and I kind of knew right away.”

Speculation rang that because of the balls placement, with the laces facing the kicker, that it was set just ever-so-much off target, leading to the tragic turn of events. Veteran, and retired, special teams coach Mike Westhoff had this to say of the situation, “You’re supposed to kick with the laces facing out. That makes the ball go straight. But on a kick that short, it’s not going to affect it much. I feel terrible for Blair. He messed it up. He was fast. He hooked it, just like a golfer pulling across the ball. He just mis-hit it. A shame.”

We’ll leave it up to you to decide.

Trick Coin or Coin Trick?

As if a botched coin toss wasn’t embarrassing enough, the subsequent press conference afterwards explaining that your team was put at a disadvantage because you weren’t allowed to recall the coin toss should do it. I’m having trouble deciding which is the bigger fail.

Angry Throw = Face Smash

Spending much of my teen years street-skating, I know this one all too well. After a botched field goal attempt (I’m starting to see a trend this season) Dan Carpenter took to the sidelines, and more specifically, to his helmet to find retribution and after a rather impressive display of child-like temper-tantrum-ing (slamming his helmet against the ground as hard as he could) Dan’s headgear leapt up to say “WTF, Bro. I thought we were friends.”

Run, Forrest, Run!

DeSean Jackson certainly had a lot on his mind during this play (What should I eat tonight? Are we going to the playoffs? Why is the sky blue?). After returning a punt from the Cowboys, Jackson took his time running nearly 20 yards in the wrong direction before curving back on track and losing the ball in a pile-up.
