Fast Food Has Taken It A Step Further-Mac N’ Cheetos

Interesting and sometimes surprising junk food or comfort food combinations are nothing new. Turducken, pizza bagels, Oreos and ice cream and even banana splits were all unheard of at one time until some adventurous person wondered, “what if?” Pizza bagels may not be much of a stretch, but Burger King’s latest offering, Mac n’ Cheetos ™, is one comfort food turned fast food combination that is hard to imagine thinking up.

Mac n’ Cheetos

Pitched by the fast food giant as “Creamy Mac, Crispy Cheetos” ™, Mac n’ Cheetos are a finger food side order. As might be expected from the name, Mac n’ Cheetos are a fried snack composed of macaroni and cheese wrapped up in a Cheetos skin. To make it even more tempting, these cheesy snacks are being offered with Ranch dip.

You may want to hurry in to your nearest Burger King if Mac n’ Cheetos sounds like something you just have to try. The cheesy snack is reportedly being offered for a limited time only.

How Bad For You Are They?

The nutrition information for Mac n’ Cheetos makes them far from a healthy snack food, but also better than might be expected for anything made of macaroni, cheese and Cheetos. The good news? Each serving of these will provide 9 grams of protein. The bad news? Each serving contains 310 calories, 37 grams of carbohydrates, 9 grams of sugar, 13 grams of fat, 15 milligrams of cholesterol, and 710 milligrams of sodium. Of course, you probably expect this kind of nutrition information for most foods from a fast food joint. For comparison, a medium order of fries at Burger King contains 380 calories while a medium order of onion rings contains 410 calories. Considering similar snacks then the Mac n’ Cheetos are not really any worse. Like we cared what the calories were anyway? Your doctor might have a different perspective.

Have you tried Burger King’s new Mac n’ Cheetos yet? Does this sound like a tasty snack or something that goes too far?
