It’s pretty impressive how much you can do with a video game these days. It used to be that you needed to download a “mod” to allow you to create your own environment and manipulate the games structure to your own liking (this brings back memories of “Garry’s Mod” for Half Life 2 which was one of the most ridiculously awesome mods ever created and produced some amazing “movies” of sorts).
Minecraft is one of the first fully sandbox games, and by far the most impressive. The world is open for you to play alone or together with friends, and build/create anything your heart desires. Castles, gardens, cities, and even theme park rides, to name a few. In this video, a few Minecraft players teamed up and created a roller-coaster ride through the game, all pinned together with a Beetlejuice theme and set to an epic dub-step re-mix of the Beetlejuice theme song. It’s a psychedelic ride for sure. Strap in, and watch below!
On another note, Minecraft is getting so popular that it’s creator recently sold to Microsoft for $2.5 billion! He repeatedly promised to never sell out, but when MS drops that much cash in front of your face, it’s likely anyone would sell very quickly. It’ll be interesting to see where the game world grows from here.
