One Tail at a Time Dog Heroes Coming to Portland, Oregon

Earlier this year, Portland became a second home to One Tail at a Time (OTAT) dog rescue and adoption. Native to the greater Chicagoland area, OTAT is a no-kill, 501(c)3 dog rescue with a commitment to lowering euthanasia rates within the community. Accepting of all dog sizes and breeds, One Tail at a Time rescues dogs in need and places each one in a suitable and loving foster home until their forever family comes to take them to their forever home. OTAT provides support to foster and adopter families and conducts community outreach through humane education programs and assistance for disadvantaged and low-income families.

At their core, OTAT’s mission is so well aligned with what we here in Portland stand for and while I can’t speak for all of PDX, I’m sure many would agree when I say that we are happy to have them here.

Foster

One Tail at a Time relies on foster homes to provide a safe and comfortable temporary home for all their adoptable pups. Being a foster parent is free – OTAT takes care of all the food and resources you need. After completing the application form you could be well on your way to saving a life; an adorable, squishy, cuddly little life.

Adopt

After adopting a pup from OTAT, as part of their lifetime commitment to you and your new pup, they provide trained Adoption Counselors to help answer your questions and provide training, medical, and educational support for the life of your pup. In addition to the lifetime support, your pup will be spayed/neutered, have a microchip, documentation of all vaccinations, necessary medications, and a collar. OTAT has a special donation program dedicated to providing veterinary care and training support to all pup adopters to help keep each pup happy and healthy in their new homes. After adopting with OTAT you can be sure that every attempt will be made to keep both you and your new fur baby in tip top shape.

If you can’t adopt or be a foster parent, consider being a volunteer! OTAT is closely involved in the community, hosting various events and always in need of friendly help. With OTAT PDX just getting off the ground, now is a great time to get involved.
