The Coolest Hotels For Booking A Vacation

When you go on vacation, you don’t intend on spending your entire time in the hotel. Your room is viewed as a place meant for eating, sleeping, and showering during your few moments of downtime. However, it doesn’t have to be that way. If you stay at a unique hotel, then you’ll create memories without even leaving the room. If that idea interests you, here are a few of the coolest hotels for booking a vacation.

Sandcastle Hotels

There is a hotel made entirely out of sand located on Weymouth Beach in the UK. Guests are free to bring blankets and pillows to make the room feel more comfortable, but they should also load up on sunscreen, since there won’t be a roof to protect them from the heat. If a room made of sand sounds odd to you, there are even crazier things hotel rooms have been made out of, such as salt and chocolate.

Treehouse Hotels

There are dozens of hotels around the world located in trees. Not only will these hotels remind you of what it feels like to be a kid again, but they will also give you gorgeous views of nature that are perfect for picture taking. There are treehouse hotels in beautiful places like China, Costa Rica, France, Sweden, Chile, and Brazil, so you can take your pick.

Hobbit Hotels

If you’re a huge fan of The Lord of the Rings, you can pretend you’re a hobbit during your next vacation. There are multiple places that have hotels inside of hills in order to make you feel like you’re inside of your favorite book. The most impressive one is the Hobbit Boutique Hotel, which has different rooms based off of different characters, so you can choose to stay in a “Frodo” room, “Bilbo” room, or whatever other room you’d like.

Cave Hotels

There are some cave hotels that aim to look like they’re located underground, and there are some that actually are located underground. One of the most interesting ones is Hotel Marhala in Tunisia. It allows you to stay in rooms that have been carved into the ground — and some of the original Star Wars films were shot on the property.

Jail Hotels

There are actually hotels that are meant to make you feel like you’re staying at a prison. In fact, the hotels actually were prisons in the past. They’ve been renovated in order to give guests a good night’s sleep, but some of the scenery remains unchanged. For instance, at The Old Mount Gambier Gaol you can stay the night in a former prison cell or in an old warden’s office.

Underwater Hotels

There are plenty of underwater hotels in the world. Poseidon Undersea Resorts is one of them, and it allows you to look at fish through glass walls while you’re in your bedroom. It even has buttons you can push in order to give those fish a snack while you watch.

Animal Themed Hotels

There are plenty of animal themed hotels in the country, such as Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. However, if you love dogs and are planning on visiting Cottonwood, Idaho, you can stay at Dog Park Bark Inn. The exterior looks like a massive Beagle, but the inside is just as impressive. It contains headboards and pillows with adorable pups adorned on them. The couple who owns the place specializes in wood carvings, so you can even order your own miniature wooden replica of your dog from them.

Which one of these hotels would you love to book for a night? Do you know of other unique hotels?
