Since we have already submitted to the powers that be and become slaves of Disney, the least we can ask for is to get some of the movies we are really dying to see. With the success of Avengers: Age of Ultron and of the Netflix original series Daredevil, it is important that we make it clear that we, as the fans, want something more. With that in mind, here are 5 new Marvel movies that we NEED to see.
This one is easy to start out with because it was confirmed a while back that Marvel was interested in developing a solo Black Widow film. Of course, being interested in a solo film and working on the origin story are two different things. Specifically, let’s see where she came from and how things started. She has played such an important role in Phase 2 of these movies, so let’s learn more about her. Like, what really happened in Budapest?
Most people would prefer to forget that Nicolas Cage played Ghost Rider in not one, but two separate movies. Since Marvel has the rights to make these movies now, let’s see them get working on it. The only way to erase these bad memories is to replace them with something new. Ghost Rider is a fun character and he fits right into the darker side of things with Black Widow and Daredevil. Speaking of darker side of things…
Maybe this one is a complete fantasy, but does no one else want to see a Hawkeye solo film? I mean, this guy is just a regular human who can somehow keep up with the Earth’s mightiest heros. It would be really cool to see him in action when he is not fighting alongside super heroes.
The Punisher needs a new movie. After watching the first season of Daredevil, he would fit right into the mix in that gritty and violent universe. Despite this, Frank Castle may be a bit too dark for an extended series, which is why he should take his place as a movie hero. Introduce him in Netflix’s Daredevil if you have to, but give him a reboot movie that sticks to the comic book origins. Oh, and get Thomas Jane back.
OK, this one might be reaching for the stars. If you followed the trend though, all of the characters suggested above were at one time or another part of the Thunderbolts. Pull in Hawkeye from his Avengers involvement, introduce Elektra through Daredevil and add her to the mix, and then do one of those movie version changes to have Ant-Man be the leader. I see the final team consisting of: Ant-Man, Elektra, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Ghost Rider, and Punisher. Maybe throw in Luke Cage too.
So, what do you think? Are there any other Marvel characters you would like to see get more screen exposure?
